Stakeless Testing

Fluke 1625-2 GEO Earth Ground Testers สามารถวัดค่า Earth Ground Loop Resistance ได้เพียงใช้แค่แคลมป์เท่านั้น ด้วยหลัการทดสอบนี้ เมื่อนำแคลมป์สองอันมาไว้ใกล้ ๆ กับเสาดินแต่ละอันแล้วเชื่อมต่อกับตัวเครื่องทดสอบ จึงไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้หมุดปักลงดินแม้แต่น้อย อย่างที่รู้กันว่าแรงดันไฟฟ้านั้นจะถูกเหนี่ยวนำโดยแคลมป์อันนึงและทำการวัดค่ากระแสไฟด้วยแคลมป์อีกอันนึง จากนั้นเครื่องทดสอบจะตรวจสอบความต้านทานของเสาดินโดยอัตโนมัติ ซึ่งหลักการนี้จะทำงานได้เฉพาะเมื่อมีการเชื่อมต่อระบบกับพื้นดินสำหรับอาคารหรือโครงสร้างภายใต้การทดสอบ แต่ส่วนใหญ่แล้ว ถ้าหากมีการลงเสาดินเพียงอันเดียว เหมือนที่พักอาศัยประเภทบ้านทั่วไปนั้น หลักการวัดแบบ Stakeless จะให้ผลลัพธ์ที่ไม่เที่ยงตรง และจะนิยมใช้หลักการแบบ Fall of Potential ในการทดสอบแทน ด้วยการทดสอบแบบ Stakeless นั้นจึงไม่จำเป็นต้องถอดการเชื่อมต่อเสาดิน และสามารถให้ระบบ earth ground ทำงานต่อได้ปกติในขณะที่ทำการทดสอบ
