Amount of rainfall

Rain Gauge also know as an Udometer, Pluviometer, or an Ombrometer is an equipment used by meteorologists and hydrologists to gather and measure the amount of liquid precipitation over a set period of time. In the areas that need to measure the amount of rainfall and analyzed to forecast how much of the amount of rainfall for the next year. The rain gauge has both analog and digital, most of rain gauge uses measurement units are millimeters and inches. The measurement units depends on each country that in Thailand used "millimeters".

After the Meteorological Department measured the rainfall for a total of 24 hours, the meaning of rain in tropical countries in the monsoon area. Divided into the following criteria.

Light rain LESS THAN 0.1 mm RAIN
Moderate rain 0.1 to 10 mm RAIN
Heavy rain 10.1 to 35.0 mm RAIN
Intense rain 35.1 to 90 mm RAIN
Torrential rain MORE THAN 90.1 mm RAIN
